A past tweet from former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, resurfaced online via the official Twitter handle of Nigerian politician, Sam Amadi. The tweet coincides with current accusations by the incumbent Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, who claimed that El-Rufai left behind a substantial debt burden.

According to CHANNELS TV, Uba Sani stated that he inherited a significant debt of $587 million, N85 billion, and 115 contractual liabilities from El-Rufai, which has severely impacted the state's federal allocation.

El-Rufai's old tweet, dating back to 2012, criticized former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for excessive borrowing. In the tweet, El-Rufai remarked that while governments in the US and Europe were working to reduce debt, Jonathan was rushing to borrow, potentially jeopardizing Nigeria's future.

The tweet by Nasir El-Rufai from 2012 reads:

"In the US and Europe, governments are working to reduce debt and fiscal cliff, while our Jonathan is rushing to borrow away the future of our nation."
