The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, reacted to the post by a motorist who said a female traffic warden extorted him of N31,000 after he parked his car at a bus stop, came down and asked for direction.

The police command, through its Complaint Response Unit (CRU), told the man to furnish it with more details in order to commence investigation into the matter.

Mr Adegoke Fayoade, Lagos State Police Commissioner.

The man, whose X handle is @Adexoye, disclosed in his post that he parked his car at the Ndubuisi Bus Stop along the Mobolaji Johnson Avenue to ask for direction on Tuesday afternoon when the female traffic warden suddenly swooped on him, seized the car key and attempted to tow his car to the police station.

He added that the female traffic warden later extorted the sum of N31,000 from him before she released the car key and allowed her to go, saying he felt cheated because he only parked at the bus stop to ask for direction.

Displaying the transaction receipt of the money collected which he made through transfer, the man said he needed justice to be done regarding the alleged extortion.
